PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR 2025

As I transitioned into a creative career, I remember eagerly seeking information on how to enhance my artistic profile and maintain a sustainable, growing practice while navigating such a dynamic and challenging environment in the creative industries.

I discovered several crucial elements that significantly propelled my progress, and I am eager to share insights from my journey with other emerging artists.

Boost Your Artist Profile Professional Development Workshop

Audience:
Emerging to mid-career artists from all visual art genres including painters, sculptors, textile and digital artists. Other disciplines are most welcome, including music, theatre and performance artists. The key learning discussed is not specific to visual art, however I am a visual artist and this in my personal experience and point of reference.
This workshop can be delivered in person to small and large groups and online to a wide audience. Perfect for council run workshops and community art groups.

I present a half day PowerPoint presentation which encourages participant engagement and shared experiences. Participants are provided with a worksheet and prompted to reflect on their art practice and artistic goals with a focus on the following key objectives:

• Understanding your artistic philosophy – considering your subject and method philosophies.

• Writing Skills – Artist biography and artist statements.

• Prizes and Competitions – What, when how and why?

• Teaching others – Sharing your knowledge. How to create a workshop based on your art practice.

• Community Engagement – Opportunities for local artists.
