Bush Dance Fundraiser for Flood Relief
The beginning of this painting was painted en plein air at Colleges Crossing, Ipswich. A favourite local recreational park of mine to relax and watch the waterbirds, including pelicans, coots, black swans and many, many more birds and wildlife. I especially love to spot the turtles enjoying the sun at the edge of the reeds and the brilliant dragonflies. It's an inspirational location to paint.
It certainly has its own story to tell about the recent floods.
But on this day, it was glorious and tranquil, there were cygnets with their graceful black swan parents and beautiful little ducklings and the pelicans were sitting in the gum trees watching the world go by.
