Golden Morning - Collection of Four

This collection of four watercolour artworks was painted mid-winter en plein air whilst on location at Black Mountain in the New South Wales Highlands.

Temperatures were as low as 3 degrees during my painting sessions. My fingers and face were numb from the cold but I loved every minute. It was exhilarating. My immediate physical and emotional response to the landscape is captured in each painting.

The sparse dark trees with there bare organic shapes, set agains the glowing sun were a glorious combination of dark and light contrasts which always capture my artist's eye.
