This original oil painting depicts farmland on a rainy summer's afternoon. Storm clouds are rolling in over the horizon and the dry, hot land is refreshed and relieved by the much needed rain.

My husband and I regularly take the kids for a drive through the Somerset region of South East Queensland - we call them our 'cow drives' and we love to spot calves and foals in the paddocks. We are always amazed at how a little rain seems to green everything up at least for a short while.

This artwork expresses my interpretation of rain greeting the earth and captures that feeling of anticipation when rain is in the air.

Painted in my bokeh landscape style of art which is my spontaneous and improvised response to the refracted light on the landscape.

This artwork is completed with a handcrafted floating frame in sustainable Victorian Ash with a natural finish.
