Where the Water Falls
This original oil painting depicts the splash and spray of water as it tumbles and crashes onto the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall. I focused on the play of light as it sparkles and refracts off the water and rocks.
I was inspired by the beautiful Queen Mary Falls in the Darling Downs region of Queenland. A 40 meter descent of tumbling water over rocky cliffs and surrounded by Gondwana rainforest.
This artwork expresses water, movement and light painted in vibrant greens and yellows, clear blues and sparkling white. I describe my bokeh style of art (circle art) as Abstract Expressionism because it is my spontaneous and improvised response to the refracted light on the landscape.
This artwork captures a delightful feeling of movement which depicts the crashing water over the rocks below.
This artwork is completed with a handcrafted floating frame in sustainable Victorian Ash in a natural finish.
