Tibouchina

I was inspired to paint the stunning Tibouchina blooms which grow prolifically in Spring. My aunt has a gorgeous tree in her front garden which delights me every year.

I took a cutting and placed it in a bowl to photograph the flowers, but I didn't expect to also be dazzled by the sunlight streaming through the glass casting glorious splashes of light in the foreground.

I had to capture the play of light and the blooms which looked a stunning scene.
